“Do something different! Shake up your life! Get out of your comfort zone!”
Oh? And why would I want to do that? I happen to like my comfort zone. It’s … comfortable. Which is why it’s called a “comfort” zone rather than, say, an irritation zone, a chafing zone, or a zone of nausea.
Now if someone were to say to me, “For Godsake, Rich, get out of your zone of nausea,” I’d listen.
You want to get out of your comfort zone? Fine by me. Go to Afghanistan. You’ll get all the discomfort you could hope for. I’ll send you a card from my comfort zone.
